Several of our team at Aspen Solutions raised some funds for a matter very close to our hearts, Anthony Nolan.
Anthony Nolan is a charity which makes lifesaving connections between patients in need and incredible strangers ready to donate their stem cells, giving hope and a second chance of life to thousands of blood cancer and blood disorder patients. It means a lot to us as Sophie Harkins is the daughter of Vincent, our founder and the sister of Paul, our Managing Director. When Sophie fell ill many years ago, it was through Anthony Nolan that we were able to find a donor and she was able to receive a bone marrow transplant on the October 9th 2013.
Since this life saving procedure, Sophie has gone from strength to strength. We can’t thank them enough for the work they do!
To raise funds, we took part in the iconic RideLondon-Essex 100, where we were challenged to cycle 100 miles. Thanks to the amazing support of those who donated, we managed to smash our goal of £6k and raise £7,843.
Donating just £40 is all it takes to help recruit a new potential lifesaver for the stem cell register. This gives patients more hope of finding the matching donor they urgently need.
