Jim Murphy was first elected to Parliament in 1997. Jim was voted Minister of the Year 2008 in a secret ballot of all MPs and Lords of all political parties. In October 2008 he was appointed Secretary of State for Scotland. Besides attending the House of Commons, and seeing to his ministerial duties he has a busy Constituency office in Clarkston at the heart of the community he serves.
