The Scenario
Bemrose School is a community secondary school with a large ICT infrastructure. The school caters for students of ages 11 through 18 with ICT lessons for throughout each academic year. There are 8 dedicated IT rooms, 50 bookable laptops, and 30 departmental laptops. Each teacher has their own laptop and three departments also have access to a number of machines dedicated for their area. Currently year 7 and 8 have been given laptops for use at home and we also have ultra-mobile PCs 50 students in year 10. The infrastructure includes a comprehensive 1gb backboned copper and optic network and 30 wifi access points for wireless access to the network. Seven servers are employed to deal with the vast amount of ICT software and data requirements.
The Aspen Solution
Aspen Solutions provide two main services. Firstly, we buy a large number of new computers and ICT equipment (for example managed switches) through Aspen. We have also used Aspen to provide installation of Smart boards and network cabling.
